Dunkeld House Beat River Tay

 Opening week on the River Tay on the Dunkeld House Beat . We opened the river on Monday with the usual tradition, a cold start but not bad the river was a bit on the low side this week . but it was good to see the changes to the beat after last Octobers floods, there is some very nice changes to few pools . Wednesday and Thursday were rather cold with temp at the hut being -9 so bit on the cold side . Friday saw a nice change in the temperature coming up and starting a thaw of snow and ice . Saturday the river was starting to slowly rise and the kelts really switched on . Satarday night into Sunday will see a good rise with the heavy rain coming . Should set up next week nice if everything settles down .

A better day to be out with the temps finally above freezing makes a pleasant change this week .

 The last few days have been very cold at the beat with Wednesday morning being -9 at the hut -6 this morning . A bit warmer the next few days with some heavy rain coming in on sunday .
