28 lb Salmon


Fish of a life time, there was nothing better than to see this cracker returning to the river after a few photo's ....

Big Salmon On The Fly !!!


Here is my best Salmon so far hooked on the fly on the river Orkla last june and what a fish it was, all 28lb of prime spring salmon, This is what we all keep fishing for season after season in the hope that we could conect with a fish like this or bigger. It was a hard week's fishing to hook this cracker but well worth the wait, and as you here at the end of this video the relief that I landed my personal best !!!

Harling On The River Tay !!


Here is some traditional harling on the river Tay Its a great day out on the river when there is good water for it, I really enjoy a day out on the boat with four lures working all the time you no that you are in with a real chance of a fish. In the course of your day out on the river you will cover every single bit of the beat that you are fishing every salmon lie will see your lures at least once with every pass of the boat. At this time of year i have good success with the 3inch tay lures or kynocks killers !!!!!

Here is the cracking Fir Trees pool on Lower Kinnard on the river Tay, at the tail of this pool it is a lovely cast with the fly, there is some bricks at the tail of the pool that the fish often sit around this area !!!

River Tummel !!!


Fishing down Mikes Run on the river Tummel "this part of Upper Kinnard water". This is a cracking bit of water its ideal for beginners to start with some spey casting lessons its an easy bit of water to cover and you are always in with a chance of catching a Grilse at this time of year !!!!

Here is a lively grilse as it nears the bank,The grilse took a flying c in the Summer House pool on the Dalmarnock beat on the river tay this morning, there was a lot of fish on the move today, and now would be well worth booking a day to have a cast for these lively fish !!!

Fly fishing down the Dalmarnock bank pool on the river Tay, Looking lovely this week there was two fish hooked at the neck of the pool but they never stayed on. In this height of water its lovely to fish the fly down the top half to where the boat is kept.The bigger the water the closer the fish sit on this side of the river !!!

Guay Pool River Tay !!!


Here is the cracking Guay pool on Kinnard this is a cracking pool to fish with the fly or spinner there is always fish in this pool. At the neck of the pool in low water is a delight to fish the fly with some cracking lies, you are just waiting for a salmon or grilse to have a go at your fly !!!!

Here is the cracking Juntion pool on Lower Kinnard its always a delight to fish this pool in lower water there is always fish in this pool, this is where the Tummel and Tay join that is one of the reasons why so many fish stop here !!!
